Paulina Torres Medellín
Hello!
I am a UX designer and have worked in different professional sectors, from graphic design to Customer Experience and Account Management.
Since I was a child, I've loved art and design, but what I truly find passion in today is user experience design. I believe in the huge impact it can have, not only on business but also on people, and that's why I'm directing my career towards this. I believe UX allows us to combine creativity, technology, and real needs to truly create solutions that make a difference.
02 PROJECTS
Tandem
In this research and design project, I addressed the challenge of low labor inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities in Spain. Despite legal advances, this group faces structural, social, and communicative barriers that hinder both their access to and retention in employment. Through interviews with people with ID, accessibility experts, and those responsible for inclusion in companies, I identified a critical need: a digital tool that provides them with constant support and accessible tasks within the workplace.

The final solution was the design of Tandem, an app that integrates step-by-step tasks, accessible onboarding, and a chatbot called Frankie, which acts as a cognitive and emotional companion at work.

REVIVE
Reviver is the app that connects people with their community to exchange, give away, or rent items they no longer use. It was created to give a second life to items we have to leave behind when we move, and also to find items that can help people when they arrive at a new home for a short period.
When researching people aged 20-35 who have moved house, we found that among several issues, the waste of useful products or loss of objects with sentimental value was one of the main ones. Here are some facts:
1. When moving house, many people leave useful items behind, missing
the opportunity to give them a second life.
2. When moving, many people have to leave their belongings behind and then repurchase those items.
3. People want those items to remain useful.
4. Some people leave behind items that they later consider necessary upon arriving at their destination.

Hope in action
This project addresses the impact of climate disasters in urban contexts, where humanitarian aid faces problems of misinformation, lack of coordination, and poorly channeled resources. Cases such as Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti earthquake, and Typhoon Haiyan reveal a pattern: a large portion of donations are lost or do not arrive on time due to a lack of organization and effective communication.
CHALLENGE
Design a tool to ensure useful and up-to-date information in a crisis, reaching the public in time to optimize donations, improve transportation, and facilitate effective coordination of volunteers in affected areas.

ACADEMIA DEL FUTURO
A very fun and challenging project at Hero Guest (the company where I worked), which consisted of developing an app for elementary school children from start to finish. The app was created in response to the 2020 pandemic as a supplement for students to study and review different subjects. Within this app, parents and teachers can review and track the children's progress and grades.
As part of the Content team, I was responsible for the graphics and illustrations for courses such as “Learn About the Universe,” “Explore the Universe,” “The Human Body,” “Home Gardening,” “The Sea,” “Leadership,” and “English.”

CHALLENGE

To create a bakery with a colloquial, warm, and fun concept while maintaining the folklore that represents Mexico and the culture that makes it unique.
We wanted the image to be warm and simple, highlighting the bread as part of it, and for the brand's personality to be seen mainly in the tone of voice.
EL PANCITO MAÑANERO
Pancito Mañanero is more than just a bakery; it's an experience. Inspired by the Mexican cuisine of our grandmothers, the brand offers a variety of homemade breads made with high-quality ingredients. Both the name and the image reflect a warm, familiar concept, and it is part of a place where tradition, homemade food, and quality time come together to create unique moments with those you love most.

TALAVERA
DE LA REYNA
It is a brand and workshop dedicated to the production of Talavera Poblana. This ceramic, famous for its colorful and vibrant designs, is an emblem of Mexican craftsmanship and has been recognized internationally.
CHALLENGE
The project consisted of giving a new image to the tableware of this brand, which originated with the Spanish Conquest of Mexico and is crafted by Mexican artisans. The new image of these designs had to reflect the essence that Talavera represents, but with a more modern touch, so that it would not lose popularity among new generations.

As a packaging project, Benefitto arose from our quest to create healthy and delicious products that would make a difference. It was made for people who are passionate about health and well-being. It has a more fun and cheerful image, complying with regulation 132, which establishes what packaging for this type of food must have.

HOTBOOK
I have designed articles for magazines such as Hotbook, Loma Linda, and Hotbook News, covering topics such as gastronomy, travel, hotels, culture, design, architecture, and fashion.
From editing photographs to highlighting products, places, and events to creating illustrations and infographics for magazines and digital platforms, I have developed a skill for communicating ideas clearly and engagingly. Additionally, I have participated in graphic design projects for well-known brands such as Marco Beteta and supported López-Dóriga's social media presence.
